SummerSlam 2014 has a match card that makes the show a must see. At SummerSlam you will see Stephanie McMahon have her first match since 2003 as she goes up against Brie Bella. Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins and Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns are other notable matches on the second biggest event of the year. But, the biggest match going into SummerSlam is obviously John Cena defending his WWE WorldHeavyweight Championship against Brock Lesnar. This match is without a doubt, a big money match.

Back in 2012, Brock Lesnar made one of the most memorable returns the night after WrestleMania 28. He returned and delivered an F-5 to John Cena setting up a match between the two at Extreme Rules. The match without question was terrific, it delivered and was arguably the most hardcore match of the PG era. But, the major negative of this match was the build. The build of this match was only 4 weeks and the "IWC" didn't like only having a 4 week build for the return match of Brock Lesnar. Here we in 2014 scheduled for another match between Brock Lesnar and John Cena and we get another 4 week build. But this year is even worse because Monday will be the only show where they both are at the same show. The first week, John Cena was absent working on a movie, two weeks ago Brock Lesnar was absent, and last week John Cena, Brock Lesnar, and Paul Heyman were all absent from RAW. When you come to think about it, it's been a pretty horrible build. But, the build for this match doesn't really matter. Don't get me wrong WWE still has to build a money match but the fact that there has been absences between the three involved in the storyline does not hurt the match. The reason for this is because no matter what John Cena and Brock Lesnar will always be a money match. The title in this case is more important than the storyline. As long as a storyline is there, and we get to see it progress each week, it can be generic and weak as possible and still won't matter. WWE needs to focus more on building matches such as Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins and Chris Jericho vs. Bray Wyatt because those matches would not sell a pay-per-view, or now with the WWE Network get viewed, without a good build. A build makes or breaks a mid-card match, but for a money match it does not matter. The fans will want to view because it is simply a dream match and the storyline doesn't have to be great.

As one knows, Brock Lesnar defeated The Undertaker at WrestleMania so him defeating John Cena at SummerSlam is inevitable. It would only make sense to a normal viewer for Brock Lesnar to take the title and would only mean more money for the WWE. One thing everybody is concerned about Brock's amount of appearances after winning the title. I'm sure Brock will hold the title until WrestleMania 31 and will defend it on most pay-per-views. But, he will absolutely not be on every RAW, I would guess maybe one or two in between each pay-per-view. Also, I would expect him to miss one pay-per-view or two which is not bad. But, right now everybody thinks it will be vice versa and Brock will only defend it once or twice up until WrestleMania. Like I said, I don't think this is the case.

John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar is definitely a dream match that makes money. The build does not matter as long as there is some sort of storyline that progresses each week. Brock Lesnar and John Cena will have a match that makes SummerSlam a show you cannot miss.
